So far it seems like a decent amount of people are interested in contributing to a book (one that would feature both artwork, prose, and poety), which could be sold online for charity. However, for this to be successful we need to all put out heads together and figure out what charity we should donate to - because the overall theme of the book depends on which charity we donate to.
We've had a few suggestions: ~Drazuki has suggested we donate to Child's Play Charity and have the book be video game themed. ~yesterdayzchild has suggested we donate to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. I personally always like giving to Autism Speaks, To Write Love On Her Arms and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Does anyone else have any suggestions/opinions? I'd love to hear everyone's input!
If we can pick a charity and a theme, then anyone who wants to contribute will have until the end of September to either draw/paint/write something to put in the book. I'll most likely be using Lulu.com to self-publish the book, so it can be bought online.

They're all about putting research into finding greener solutions for people to use at home and in their businesses. They also help conservationists save wildlife, protect the oceans, etc. They find ways to make the world a safer and healthier place for people, plants, and animals.
The Environmental Working Group [link] works to keep the public informed and protected in terms of environmental dangers including pollution, energy use, chemical production, etc.

-For Autism Speaks, we could definitely do something with puzzles. That would be pretty darn cool! And autism is pretty overlooked and care generally isn't funded by insurance.
-Breast cancer = PINK.
-There's also Down syndrome.
But I would definitely recommend one of the less-publicized/recognized charities. Who knows, we may even raise some awarness!
